Fun for the Whole Family

Hoghead Festival & Parade
Proctor's much anticipated Summer festival takes place the third week in August. Originally created to honor all of the past and present railroad workers, the event has turned into a huge celebration for the entire town and surrounding area! It's a week full of fun, family, friends and neighbors, good food, class reunions, music, games and a Saturday noon parade. Saturday evening everyone gathers on Main Street for the street dance. A grand finale of fireworks ends the fun-filled event!

"Run the MAC"
The Jim McIntire Half Marathon, held annually on the third Saturday in May, began in 1983 and commemorates Coach Jim McIntire, Proctor's football and track coach. The race is a training opportunity for Grandma's Marathon. It also coincides with the Proctor Journal's Annual Community Wide Garage Sale.

South St. Louis County Fair
Every Summer visitors and residents enjoy attending the South St. Louis County Fair. Exhibits include 4-h displays and horse shows, live entertainment, truck and tractor pulls, stock cars races, open horse shows, and of course the carnival of rides, games and food vendors. Proctor Speedway
The Proctor Speedway has attracted racing fans to Proctor for 58 years. This 3/8 mile high-bank dirt track features races every Sunday evening from the first of May into October. The Proctor Speedway organization is a member of the WISSOTA Auto Racing Association. Five classes of races are featured each season, including Pure Stock, Super Stock, Midwest Modifieds, Modifieds and Late Models. Dirt Floor Arena

The Dirt Floor Arena is located in Proctor/Duluth just off of Hwy 2 at the South Saint Louis County Fairgrounds. The DFA is an indoor facility operated completely by volunteers. Improvements come from sponsor donations. Events from horse clinics, to play days, to dog agility shows are held annually. The arena is an excellent location, available for rent for private, public and/or club shows, exhibitions, clinics or demonstrations.
